Suburban Players Help Team Palestine Win Gold, Advance To Asia Championships

Celebration event for the team to be held July 17 at Moraine Valley Community College. Sponsorships available, donations will fund trip.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Team Palestine Baseball, which includes suburban players who take the field on the international level, recently notched a historic milestone by winning the gold medal at the West Asian Cup.

Players from Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Lawn, Palos Hills, Palos Park, Bridgeview, Homer Glen and Skokie competed on the championship team. The overall team includes players from Florida, Texas, Arizona, Louisiana, California, New York, New Jersey, Canada, and Indiana.

"This incredible achievement speaks volumes about the dedication, talent, and determination of these exceptional athletes who have worked tirelessly to represent Palestine on the global stage," team leadership said.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our athletes and what they have accomplished in securing the West
Asian Championship Gold,” said Team General Manager Abed Ghouleh. "Each player on this team has demonstrated unparalleled dedication, resilience, and heart, contributing to this historic achievement. We look forward to representing Palestine at the Asia Championships in China in September.”

Team Palestine Baseball is fully dependent on community support to fund their next step, and will hold a Championship Celebration and fundraiser on Thursday, July 17 at Moraine Valley Community College Building M, located at 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills.

The community is invited to share in the celebration including dinner, live entertainment,raffles and special appearances by inspiring speakers and guests. Individual tickets are $100
with several sponsorship opportunities. This family-friendly evening will show support of
Palestine and the favorite pastime of baseball as well as our pride for the talented Team
Palestine!

“This victory is not just a testament to their talent; it symbolizes the strength, unity, and hope of
our community,” said Director Roger Abdallah. “It demonstrates what we can achieve when we
come together, showing the world that we are capable of greatness regardless of the challenges we face. This gold medal is not just a piece of metal; it represents a brighter future for our youth, a symbol of perseverance, and a reminder that with hard work and commitment, we can overcome any obstacle. I am incredibly proud of each of the athletes for their unwavering spirit and determination.”

The evening promises to be a celebration of their recent triumph, with opportunities to meet the team, enjoy a community gathering, and play an active role in supporting their future.
