Swastikas, Stars & a Penis Drawn on Tinley Park Sidewalk & Driveway

The swastikas were "crudely drawn," police said.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Swastikas, stars and a penis were drawn on a Tinley Park sidewalk and driveway last week.

A police officer was sent to Greenfield Avenue Saturday afternoon after a resident complained about swastikas on his sidewalk.

The 63-year-old man “discovered three crudely drawn swastikas on the sidewalk in front of his residence,” police said. “The swastikas were drawn with green chalk.”

The Tinley Park man “is not Jewish and does not feel targeted or threatened by the swastikas,” police said.

The officer then reportedly paid a visit to the man’s 75-year-old neighbor. This man “said he was unaware of the white chalk drawing of a penis on his driveway that (an officer) pointed out to him,” according to a police report.

In addition to the swastikas and the penis picture, police found a “star and a star inside a circle drawn in chalk in front of (a 46-year-old man’s) residence.
