These are the 25 Most Diverse School Districts in Illinois

The three pillars of a good school district are academics, athletics and diversity.

While academics can be ranked based on tests scores and athletics can be ranked based on win-lose records, ranking diversity isn’t so simple.

Nonetheless, Niche set out to find what makes a school district diverse, and based on that, they were able to determine which Illinois school districts are the most diverse in 2016.

These three indicators were used to determine a school district’s diversity rating:

• The percentage of students belonging to the most represented ethnicity
• Parent and student surveys on the student culture and diversity
• The percent of students that qualify for a free or reduced lunch

Here are the Top 25 most diverse school districts in the state, according to Niche.
