Tinley Breaks Ground On New Fire Station No. 47 Project
The new station will hold eight firefighters and will have a new driveway so trucks won't block traffic on 167th St. when they back in.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Village of Tinley Park held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Fire Station No. 47 Monday on the same site where the old building sits. The old fire station will be demolished.
The ceremony included remarks by Fire Chief Forest Reeder and by several firefighters, some of whom told stories about the building and fellow firefighters who worked there in the past.
The new building will feature bunk room facilities to accommodate as many as eight firefighters; privacy for showers and changing; upgraded safety and cancer-prevention measures for staff; additional storage for gear, equipment supplies and records; a fitness room; and quicker access to apparatus.
