Tinley Dist. 146 Hires 2 New Principals

District 146 has approved hiring principals for two elementary schools, one who will be promoted, and one who is new to the district.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The District 146 school board has approved hiring principals for two elementary schools, one who will be promoted, and another who is new to the district.

Megan Mitera has been named principal of Fulton School, and Joe Trsar as principal of Memorial School. The board approved the hiring at its May 13 meeting.

“We are so excited to have Megan and Joe as the newest principals at District 146,” said Superintendent Jeff Stawick in a statement. “We gathered groups of teachers, parents, and students to determine necessary qualities of a new principal for each school. I know Megan and Joe were on point and I know they will do an amazing job leading the schools.”

Mitera has spent her 17-year education career at Fulton. She began as a speech-language pathologist, and became the assistant principal in 2015. This year, she served as the assistant principal at both Fulton and Kruse Education Center. Mitera holds a bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology, two master’s degrees, and a director of special education endorsement.

Trsar has experience teaching language arts, English language learning classes, foreign languages and early learning. He has served as an assistant principal in two school districts in Lemont and in West Chicago. Tsar holds a bachelor’s degree in international business and German, and two master’s degrees in the education field.
