Tinley Honors Commissioner Reta Brudd, Who Died In April
Reta L. Brudd, a 46-year, award-winning commissioner for the Village of Tinley Park, died April 21.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Reta L. Brudd, a 46-year, award-winning commissioner for the Village of Tinley Park, died April 21.
Brudd was appointed to serve on the human resources commission in 1973. She has served since then, most recently as chairwoman.
She spearheaded countless new programs and projects, village officials said, and contributed more than 20,000 hours of volunteer work. Brudd received many recognitions and awards, and was twice honored with awards from the Village of Tinley Park and the German City of Buedingen, for her international Sister City efforts. In 2002, Brudd received a Life Achievement Award from the Chamber of Commerce.

Brudd was honored Tuesday's village board meeting. A flag also was hung half-mast in the village hall earlier this month.
