Tinley Man, 31, ID'd As Victim In Fatal Shooting Outside Glenwood Bar
The shooting happened Sunday around 1:30 a.m. at Chug A Lug on 184th and Halsted.

GLENWOOD, IL — A Tinley Park man has been identified as the man fatally shot outside a Glenwood bar early Sunday morning.
Glenwood police responded around 1:30 a.m. Sunday to Chug A Lug Pub & Grill in the 18400 block of South Halsted Street, where they found a gunshot victim in the parking lot. The victim has now been identified as James Honey, 31, of Tinley Park, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Authorities believe there was a confrontation outside the bar between the victim and a group of people as the victim and his companions were leaving, resulting in the shooting, according to police, who said the shooter fled in a vehicle.

A representative from Chug a Lug issued a statement late Sunday, calling the shooting an "isolated and tragic incident."
"We acknowledge the unfortunate reality that violence is an issue affecting parts of the Southland region," the statement reads. "While this incident occurred in our parking lot, as patrons were leaving, and was not a reflection of the atmosphere inside Chug A Lug, we understand the broader context.

"We have always prioritized the safety and well-being of our patrons and staff. We have security measures in place, including security personnel, and employ a strategic closing procedure to ensure a safe dispersal of our customers. This is the first incident of this nature to occur at our establishment."
The Glenwood Police Department and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating. The statement reads that the bar's management is cooperating fully.
"We understand that this incident has caused concern within our community, and we want to reassure everyone that we are taking all necessary steps to further enhance our security measures," the statement reads. "Beyond our immediate security, Chug A Lug is committed to remaining a part of the conversation and contributing to efforts aimed at addressing and helping to stop violence in our community.
"We are a family-friendly establishment, and the safety of our guests and the well-being of our community remains our utmost priority."
