TINLEY PARK, IL — A 28-year-old Tinley Park man fatally struck while changing a tire on I-55 Southbound Sunday evening was a Marine sergeant known for his selflessness and drive for perfection, according to a GoFundMe started in support of his family.
Nikolas Hutto died after being struck by a car while changing a tire on the shoulder of I-55 southbound Sunday evening.
Hutto is being remembered as a "friend to all who knew him," according to a GoFundMe aiming to raise $20,000 for his family.

"Nikolas loved life and his country, spending countless months overseas defending his country," the fundraiser reads. "Nikolas was motivated not only in his professional career but also in his inherent dedication to self-improvement."
The GoFundMe describes Hutto as a Penn State alum and Nittany Lion who "was a die-hard Michigan fan" who "loved playing sports, even though he wasn't the best.

"Nikolas's drive for perfection was borderline psychopathic and awe-inspiring," the GoFundMe described. "Nikolas was truly a joy to be around, always keeping everyone in check and ensuring everyone had what they needed."
As of late Tuesday morning, the GoFundMe had raised $5,300.
