Tinley Park-Park District Lauded For Financial Management

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Board of Commissioners of the Tinley Park-Park District last week announced it received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

The award is the highest in government financial reporting and recognizes the Park District’s comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended Feb. 28, 2022.

The award is a significant achievement for the Park District and notes its transparency and full disclosure in financial reporting, the park district said.

"We are honored to receive this award from the Government Finance Officers Association," said Board President Marie Ryan. "Our guiding principle at the Park District is to provide premier opportunities for residents to enjoy their community and quality service, while always being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars."
