Tinley Park's Holiday Happenings Features Parades, Holiday Market
The festivities kick off on Friday with a tree-lighting ceremony, and parade and continues over the weekend with plenty of family events.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park will kick off the holidays in style this weekend with a series of community events, including a tree-lighting and live music.
The village’s Holiday Happenings event will begin on Friday and run through the weekend, organizers said. The events include a holiday market that will begin on Friday and run for three days. The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place at 6:15 p.m. on Friday at Zabrocki Plaza, which is located at 173rd Place and Oak Park Avenue.
Local residents can show up at 5:30 p.m. and for a community sing-along of holiday favorites.

Saturday

- Tinley’s Toyland Parade
Step-off is at 11:45 a.m. at 175th Street north along Oak Park Avenue to North Street
Children are encouraged to bring an unwrapped today, which will be collected at the holiday market
- Old Fashioned Carriage Rides will go on immediately after the parade and run through 5 p.m.
- Photos with Santa 12-5 p.m.
Complimentary tickets will be distributed until 3:30 p.m. inside the heated tent
Residents are encouraged to bring a can of non-perishable food to be donated
- Toy Train Ride
- Snow Globe Photo Opportunity from 12- 5 p.m.
- Vogt Visual Arts Center will host a holiday open house from 11 a.m. -4 p.m.
Sunday
- Photos with Santa 12-5 p.m.

The parade will feature floats with community groups, local businesses, and area high school marching bands and an appearance by Santa

Friday 6-9 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 12-5 p.m.
The heated tent market will feature unique designs and creations as well as opportunities for children to write letters to soldiers and decorate cookies.
