Tinley Woman Identified As Person Struck By Metra Train Wednesday

TINLEY PARK, IL — The woman who died Wednesday after being struck by a Rock Island Metra train in Tinley Park has been identified as Andrea Ortega.

Ortega, 25, was from the 16000 block of Ozark Avenue in Tinley, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Her death has been ruled a suicide.

Ortega was hit by Train #511 at 12:30 p.m. as the train was making its way into the 80th Avenue station. The train was due in Joilet at 12:55 p.m.
