TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park Police will be smashing up a squad car in July at the “Five-O at the Dirty O” Demolition Derby at the Tournament of Destruction, and they're asking for the public's help to raise money for the Special Olympics — and to make them champs.

The race is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Tinley's cop car will be used in a 15-lap race around the dirt oval track with squad cars from other departments at the Route 66 Raceway in Joliet.

Tinley's police are asking for your help in supporting them by donating or buying tickets to the event. Last year, the department raised more $150,000 for the Torch Run, and were the second highest fundraising department in the state, officials said.
