Tinley's Tree Lighting Bumped Up, Village Readies Harmony Square Ice Rink For Debut
The tree lighting is happening a little earlier this year, so residents can make full use of the new ice rink, the Village said.
TINLEY PARK, IL — The Village's annual community tree lighting has been moved up this year, to coincide with the debut of an ice rink going in at Harmony Square, the Village said Monday.
Typically part of the Holiday Happenings the first weekend in December, this year's lighting of the 35-foot community tree is set for 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21 at the plaza, 6700 North St.
Carolers will be roaming Harmony Square from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Food and beverages will be offered at food trucks throughout the evening.

The Village officially opens the gates to the brand-new ice rink experience at 6:30 p.m. Residents can rent skates or bring their own hockey skates to try out the synthetic surface. Rink admission (with or without rental) is $5 per skater. Skate rental is $5. A valid I.D. is required to rent skates. The I.D. will be held during rental and returned when the skates are. Attendees can also enjoy a game of curling on the rink and warm up next to several firepits.

The ice rink experience will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays to Thursdays; 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays; 4 to 10 p.m. Saturdays; and 4 to 9 p.m. Sundays from Nov. 21 to Feb. 15, except on holidays.
A holiday light show is scheduled to begin in early December in the plaza.
Save the date for Holiday Happenings, set from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 in Harmony Square.
