Tinley's Veterans Day Ceremony Set For This Weekend

The event Saturday will feature a performance by the Central Junior High School band and a gun salute.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The village and the and the Tinley Park Veterans Commission will hold its annual Veterans Day ceremony this weekend. The event will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Patrick E. Rea Veterans Plaza, 18001 S. 80th Ave.

Patriotic music will be performed by the Central Junior High School band, and short speeches will be given. A gun salute also will be part of the ceremony.

Named after the former village clerk and retired brigadier general, the Patrick E. Rea Veterans Plaza was dedicated in 2012. The Veterans Day dedication was part of the official grand opening of the remodeled 80th Avenue Metra train station, which is adjacent to the plaza.
