Top 25 Highest, Lowest Paid School Superintendents in Illinois

The Illinois State Board of Education recently released 2014-15 salary information for more than 198,000 public school teachers and administrators in the state.

We sorted through this massive data set to see which school districts had the highest- and lowest-paid superintendents in 2015. To ensure a fair comparison, only those with a full-time equivalent of 1.0 are included in our lists of the top and bottom 25 superintendent salaries.

Beneath each superintendent’s salary is “other benefits,” which includes the amount in health, dental, life and vision insurance paid by the employer (local taxpayers).
