Trustees OK Facelift for 11 Miles of Tinley Roads
The village's board of trustees approved a repaving project this week that includes 63 local residential roads.

A total of 63 streets making up more than 11 miles of road in will be getting a facelift come late April and early May.
Village officials approved a $2.5 million contract with representatives from Iroquois Paving Corporation this past week, who will work this spring to put a fresh coat of pavement on local streets, according to a story in Triblocal. The projects are being paid for using revenue from motor fuel tax and vehicle stickers, village documents said.
“Residents will still have access to their driveways,” Village Manager Scott Niehaus said, according to the story. “The process (on each street) is fast and should only take a couple of days.”

Also at the March 20 meeting, the village accepted Local Agency Pavement Preservation, or LAPP, grant that will be used to repair 167th street both from 80th to Cherry Hill avenues and Harlem to 80th avenues, Triblocal reports.
The funding makes up for $924,000 of the $1.3 million project which is slated to take place this summer. Bids have not yet been accepted for that repaving.
