SeatGeek Stadium is the home for Chicago’s Major League Rugby team, the Chicago Hounds. Four Hounds players—Nate Augspruger, Bryce Campbell, Luke Carty, and Dylan Fawsitt--will compete in Friday’s match.

“The Chicago Southland is thrilled to welcome the American Series and some of the best rugby players in the World,” said Visit Chicago Southland President/CEO Mary Patchin. “As we continue to witness the growth and support of the second-year Chicago Hounds, we hope to see more World-class rugby events such as this coming to the area.”

The July 5 match will rekindle the Pershing Cup. In 1919, US Army General John J. Pershing organized the Inter-Allied Games, a multi-sport event which took place in Paris. One of the matches was USA vs Romania. Five years later during the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, the USA matched up again with Romania. In honor of the 100-year anniversary of the Paris Olympic Games, USA Rugby and AEG Rugby are reviving “The Pershing Cup” this Friday.

The first match of the American Series was held April 28 between the USA Women’s National Team and Canada in Los Angeles. The series will continue July 12 in Washington D.C. as the USA men will battle Scotland and conclude August 31 in Los Angeles with USA versus Canada. Tickets to all matches in Chicago, Washington, D.C, and Los Angeles can be purchased by visiting: www.eagles.rugby/americanseries.
