Veterans Day 2017: What's Open, Closed In Tinley Park

TINLEY PARK, IL — This year, Veterans Day is officially Saturday, Nov. 11, and while events honoring U.S. military men and women will be held this weekend, many institutions around Tinley Park will observe the holiday Friday.
Here's a look at how some places and services in the village will be handling Veterans Day:
Schools: No classes for Elementary School District 159 and Lincoln-Way High School District 210. However, Kirby School District 140, Arbor Park School District 145, Community Consolidated School District 146, Summit Hill School District 161, Bremen High School District 228 and Consolidated School District 230 will have classes.

Village Government: Village Hall and village offices will be open. County, state and federal government offices will be closed, though.
Tinley Park Public Library: The library will be open.

Tinley Park-Park District: Offices will be open.
Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.
Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed. Call ahead to be sure.
Retailers, Restaurants, Bars and Other Businesses: Most will be open, but check hours ahead of time.
