WGN Anchors To Serve As Grand Marshals Of Tinley Park Irish Parade

TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park has announced the grand marshals of its annual Irish Parade, to be held Sunday, March 5.

WGN midday news anchors Patrick Elwood and Dina Bair will lead the festivities, kicking off at 1 p.m. along Oak Park Avenue.

Elwood joined WGN-TV in 2013. Career highlights include coverage of the 2005 World Series, two Blackhawks Championships, the 2007 Super Bowl and the 1995 Oklahoma City Bombing, for which he earned a Peabody Award.

Bair is an Emmy award-winning journalist who joined WGN-TV in 1994. She’s also the medical reporter for the “Medical Watch” segments on WGN Midday News, WGN Evening News and WGN News at Nine.

The parade is set to include nearly 80 floats, performances and walking groups. It steps off at Central Middle School and will march north along Oak Park Avenue to 172nd Street.

A special event will be held in Zabrocki Plaza following the parade, featuring live music, food vendors and what the Village touts as a "big announcement."
