What Should Go in Place of Chick's Deli?

It's time to weigh in on the fate of the Chick's on Oak Park Avenue.

Chick's Ice Cream & Deli in  was once a hotspot for ribs, dessert and deli sandwiches.

But along with many other businesses during the downturn of the economy, it began to struggle, real estate agent Tony Giannini said last week. The restaurant was eventually foreclosed upon. Now owned by a bank, the building at 17609 Oak Park Ave. sits vacant. A "Ribs Here" sign remains painted on one of its windows. 

Giannini said he's talked to several interested buyers but the 1,600-square-foot single-story building's fate is still up in the air. It comes with a parking lot that can accommodate between 40 and 60 vehicles and is within walking distance from the .

It's priced at $215,000.
