Work Begins On Townhomes, Mayor Calls Project 'Key' To Tinley's Future
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Oct. 4 for luxury townhomes coming to 179th and Argo Ct. in Tinley Park.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Officials and developers earlier this month broke ground on a luxury townhome development in Tinley Park, with Mayor Michael Glotz praising the project as one key to the Village's future.
Glotz, Trustee Colleen Sullivan and Clerk Nancy O'Connor joined Ramsey Elshafei, President of RE Development Solutions and Ashraf Lakhany, Owner of Superhost Hospitality at the groundbreaking ceremony for Sunset Estates, a luxury townhome development featuring a dozen townhomes slotted for 179th Street and Argo Court.
The development includes approximately 1,800 square foot 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath homes with open floorplans, two-car garages and private patios within walking distance of the village's downtown and Metra Station. The townhomes are expected to be available for rental by Spring 2024.

"A growing community is a healthy one," said Tinley Park Mayor Michael Glotz, in a release from the developer. "As we redevelop our downtown and continue to attract new businesses, it’s vital that we have the population density needed to support it all. Projects like this townhome development are key in making sure the Tinley Park economy stays strong and continues to flourish long into the future."
Developer Elshafei said they hope the development will be an additional draw for the village.

"We are pleased to be building in Tinley Park, with its great public schools and parks," Elshafei said in a release. "We respect that the Village has been named among the Best Places to Live and we know Sunset Estates will attract young professionals and families with its location near restaurants and shopping and public transportation.
"As interest rates rise and single-family homes are less attainable, we feel our luxury townhome rentals are an attractive alternative for those looking for high quality residences now."
Sunset Estates townhomes are described as featuring "kitchens with white shaker cabinetry, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and luxury vinyl flooring." Other features include "porcelain tile flooring, quartz countertops and subway tile surrounds."
Master baths are designed to include a free-standing tub, as well as walk in shower stall and double sinks. A second full bath connects two additional bedrooms. General Contractor for the project is Meadowbrook Builders.
RE Development Solutions & Superhost Hospitality are working with Tinley Park officials to build 31 additional luxury townhomes off Oak Park Avenue, with anticipated construction starting spring 2024.
"With the economy shifting toward more rental properties, our firm has dedicated additional resources to the multi-family market," Elshafei said. "This is an opportunity to meet young professional, families, and retirees in the way they want to live today."
