• Lebanon Road project extension definitely approved into 2026 (timestribunenews.com) — Drivers who use Lebanon Road south of Troy will be dealing with construction detours into 2026, as Madison County extended the deadline for a major bridge and road realignment project near the CSX tracks. Lochmueller Group, based in Troy, is helping redesign the crossing, which officials say will improve emergency access and school bus safety as traffic grows in the area.
   

• Rita Spencer (riverbender.com) — A beloved mother and grandmother with a son living in Troy, Rita Mae Spencer of Gillespie has passed away at age 88. Family and friends can pay their respects at Gillespie Methodist Church on Saturday, December 20, with visitation in the morning and funeral services at noon, followed by burial at Wheeler Cemetery.
