Alex's Lemonade Stand Coming to Vernon HIlls
In recognition of National Lemonade Days, Learning Resources will host a lemonade stand fundraiser on June 7 to benefit pediatric cancer research.

Alex's Lemonade Stand, a national fundraiser dedicated to finding cures for pediatric cancer, is coming to the Learning Resources store in Vernon Hills for one day on June 7.
From 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents are invited to come to the south parking lot at 380 N. Fairway Drive to make a donation and cool off with a glass of lemonade, according to a post in the Chicago Tribune.
The stand will be manned by volunteers from Learning Resources. The store hopes to raise $500.

The Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) was established in honor of cancer patient, who started a lemonade stand in 2000 when she was just 4 years old to raise money to help find a cure for pediatric cancer. Alex passed away in 2004. Since then, her lemonade stand has become a national fundraiser.
