Countryside Fire Protection District to Host Educational Seminar to Local Real Estate Agents
The workshop will teach local real estate agents how to sell homes protected by fire sprinklers.

The Countryside Fire Protection District is hosting a educational presentation about how to sell homes protected by fire sprinklers to area real estate agents. The seminar is part of a FEMA grant-funded program to train real estate agents how to highlight the life-safety benefits of fire sprinklers for their homebuyers. The event takes place at Countryside Fire Protection District Fire Station, 801 S. Midlothian Road, Mundelein, on Thursday, September 1, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Over 1,600 homes in the Countryside Fire Protection District, Vernon Hills and Long Grove are protected with fire sprinklers and portions of Vernon Hills and Long Grove are within the fire district. Since real estate agents play an influential role in marketing the features of homes, the fire district is using this event to teach them how to highlight the life-safety benefits of fire sprinklers for their homebuyers.
A live fire and sprinkler burn demonstration with two similarly furnished rooms - one with a fire sprinkler and one without - will be a part of the event. Attendees will feel the extreme heat and see the quick growth of fire in the unprotected room and be able to compare it with the quick response and cooling action of the fire sprinkler in the other room. The demonstration will show the vital role that home fire sprinklers play in saving lives and reducing property damage.
