Food Pantry Seeks PB&J, Other Donations
Vernon Township continues to seek the community's support to keep its food pantry stocked.

The top items on its wish list often vary, but the Vernon Township food pantry's need for donations is constant.
In its most recent plea to Facebook fans, the township asked donors to supply peanut butter, cereal, and jelly or jam.
Other recent requests have includedΒ boxed soap, cereal, Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper, boxed potatoes and all sorts of toiletries.

Between 250-300 families benefit from monthly packages from the food pantry,Β Kathie Deyerler, general assistance caseworker, recently told Patch.
Donations can be dropped off atΒ the Vernon Township food pantryΒ between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those with large donations stemming from food drives are asked to call before delivering. For more information, call the Vernon Township office at (847) 634-4600.

Donations for the Vernon and Libertyville township food pantries can also be dropped off at Vernon Hills Village Hall, the Vernon Hills Police Department and the Vernon Hills Public Works Department.
