Kids Fishing Day Saturday

Kids are invited to grab a pole and head over to Big Bear Lake in Century Park Saturday, June 8 for Kids Fishing Day, sponsored by the Vernon Hills Park District and Libertyville Fishing Club.

The event, open to kids ages 5 to 13, runs from 9 a.m. to noon.

Never fished before? Not a problem. There will be instructions and demonstrations before the event.

Bait will be provided along with a limited number of fishing poles. 

Prizes will be awarded for the first fish caught and largest fish caught in different age groups.

Parking will be available at Century Park, off Lakeview Parkway.

Registration is $5 for park district residents and $6 for non-residents.
