Vernon Hills High School Fine Arts Supervisor and Orchestra Director Frank Lestina is retiring this spring year after 33 years with the district.
On June 1, there will be a "Lestina Lovin' Alumni Concert and Open House" to honor Frank. The concert begins at 2 p.m. in the VHHS Auditorium, with the reception following from 4-6.
Ninety graduates from the orchestras Frank has directed throughout his years at LHS and VHHS will be performing and Frank will be conducting. This was all organized without Frank's knowledge — until they had to tell him he would be conducting.
