Police Blotter: Video Game Thefts, DUI, Drug Charges

ALCOHOL

Andres F. Vargas, 28, of 524 McKinley Ave., Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed and driving without insurance June 10 at Townline Road and Lakeview Parkway, where officers investigating a crash found Vargas with a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. His court date is July 10 in Waukegan.

DRUGS

Brian W. Rohde, 22, of 19434 W. Hoag Ct., Mundelein, was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lane usage June 13 on the 1300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. His court date is July 11 in Mundelein.Β 

FALSE REPORT

A 17-year-old boy was charged with filing a false police report June 12 at the Vernon Hills Police Department. His court date was not available.

THEFT

Two girls, ages 14 and 15, were charged with retail theft June 12 at Sears after leaving the store without paying for $57 in cosmetics. Their court dates are July 11 in Mundelein.

Mark L. Printis, 27, of 4237 Greenleaf Court, Park City, was charged with two counts of retail theft and escaping from custody June 13 at Walmart. Police said he and a 13-year-old girl, who faces one theft charge, left the store without paying for $711.12 in video games. Printis ran from officers after he was placed under arrest, police said. His court date is July 9 in Waukegan. The girl’s court date was not available.

Estela Perez-Valencia, 26, of 1619 Rosemary Road, Highland Park, was charged with retail theft June 11 at Walmart, after she left the store without paying for $16.41 in cosmetics. Her court date is July 11 in Mundelein.
