Talent Scouts Visit Vernon Hills

Dozens of contestants took their talent to the stage Saturday at Westfield Hawthorn mall for a national screen test conducted by Audition America.

A crowd of spectators gathered as many youths and teenagers sang, danced, played musical instruments and showcased other talents on a runway set up in the middle of the mall. 

The event gave participants a chance to break into the film and fashion industry.

“Some have gone on to make millions, some have only gone on to work professionally part time as an extra curricular activity in their home town, but all have gained confidence, experience and exposure” through the audition process, according to literature distributed to participants at the event.

The contestants will be scored by Audition America’s talent scouts based on photo shoots and their talent demonstrations, which were videotaped. The winners, which will be notified at a later date, will be offered one-year contracts with one of the organization’s agencies.
