Village Honors VHHS Girls Basketball Team
Vernon Hills officials recognized the Vernon Hills High School girls basketball team this week.
Members of the Vernon Hills girls basketball team were honored Tuesday by village officials. The varsity team placed second in the Illinois High School Association's state tournament last month.
"The girls are just great all year," coach Paul Brettner told Vernon Hills officials. "The milestones we achieved are fantastic."
Vernon Hills beat Montini in overtime in the semi-finals and lost the championship to Quincy Notre Dame.

"When we lost ... we lost with class. If the girls can continue that in their lives, they will be just fine," Brettner said.
