• 2025 12/12 – Rickey D. West (southernillinoisnow.com) — West Frankfort readers may recognize the family of 64-year-old Rickey D. West of Mt. Vernon, whose brother Richard West lives in West Frankfort. Rickey, born in Decatur and formerly employed at Kinmundy Truck Stop and World Color Press, passed away Tuesday in Mt. Vernon. He is remembered by daughters and siblings across Salem, Texas, and southern Illinois; no public services are planned.
