2 Killed Following House Fire In South Austin
A man and woman are the 2 confirmed deaths stemming from the Thursday morning blaze.

CHICAGO, IL — At least two people have died following a Thursday morning house fire on the West Side, according to the Chicago Fire Department. The blaze in the South Austin neighborhood also injured at least two other people who suffered from burns and smoke inhalation, authorities said.
According to the department, a home in the 5200 block of West Race Avenue caught fire Thursday morning, and firefighters were able to extinguish the flames by around 10:30 a.m. So far, a man and a woman are the only confirmed deaths, and officials have not released any other details concerning the victims.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to the department. At least one working smoke detector was discovered at the house, and other detectors were also found, but they were destroyed by the fire, authorities said.
