Police Release 'Person Of Interest' Photos In Benito Jaurez High School Shooting
Two people were killed and two were injured Friday in the shooting near the school on Chicago's West Side.

CHICAGO, IL — Chicago police have released surveillance photos of a person of interest wanted in connection with Friday's shooting that killed two and injured two others near Benito Juarez High School.
The shooting at the West Side high school happened around 2:30 p.m. when school was being dismissed for the day. The building is located in the 1900 block of South Laflin Street.
Two teen boys, 14 and 15 years old, were both fatally shot in the head, ABC Chicago reported, citing police. Another 15-year-old boy was shot in the thigh and shoulder, and a 15-year-old girl sustained a graze wound to the thigh.

Both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, ABC reported.
The Cook County Medical Examiner identified one of the teens killed as 15-year-old Brandon Perez. The identities of the other victims have not been released.

A radio dispatch by police said a person of interest in a black mask, black hoodie and black North Face jacket was seen running west on Cermak Road and north on Ashland Avenue, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Anyone with information about the shooting or the possible person of interest should call 911 and provide their location, direction of travel and a brief description of the person. Callers should not approach them, police said.
Chicago Public Schools released the following statement Friday:
“The safety of our school community is our top priority. This afternoon, we received reports that shots had been fired outside of Benito Juarez High School shortly after dismissal. The Chicago Police Department (CPD) and paramedics responded quickly to the scene. CPS remains in close contact with CPD and this incident is under investigation. The CPS Office of Safety and Security and other District leadership are working closely with school leadership and staff, as well as CPD to gather information and respond to this incident. CPS will keep Benito Juarez families updated as well as the greater community. Our thoughts are with all those impacted by this tragedy.”
A CPS official said that counseling would be available to students Monday, several of whom witnessed the shooting outside the school.
Brown would not confirm if the teens shot were students, saying the investigation was in the preliminary stages.
