According to police, the shooting happened Sunday night in the 2700 block of Clinton Avenue.
BERWYN, IL — A juvenile was shot Sunday night in what police said was a "gang-related incident" on the 2700 block of Clinton Avenue, according to Chief of Police Michael Cimaglia.
Police said officers arrived at the home at around 9:04 p.m. after receiving multiple calls about gunshots in the area. When they got there, officers said they learned one person with a gunshot wound had been taken to a nearby hospital by family members.
"Officers also located several casings and projectiles from multiple firearms, as well as a discarded shotgun," Cimaglia said in a written statement.

Cimaglia said the department determined Monday the incident was "directly" related to an ongoing gang rivalry but did not immediately respond to questions on how officials came to that conclusion.
According to police, the juvenile was being uncooperative with the ongoing investigation as of Monday night. The juvenile's identity, gender and medical condition have not been released.

"The Berwyn Police Department has been working tirelessly on this incident and other serious major incidents, and it makes the investigation more difficult when the victims and witnesses are uncooperative," Cimaglia said.
