Woman Stole Ambulance From Hospital, Hit Bicyclist And Car: Cops

Police arrested the woman, 33, about a mile away from Humboldt Park Health where they say she stole a Chicago Fire Department ambulance.

CHICAGO — A woman is in custody after she stole an ambulance from a West Side hospital Tuesday night and struck a bicyclist and a car with it, police said.

The woman drove the ambulance, which belongs to the Chicago Fire Department, away from Humboldt Park Health in the 1000 block of North California Avenue at around 7:25 p.m., officials said.

The 33-year-old woman was arrested after she struck a bicyclist and a car in the 2200 block of West Division Street, about a mile away from the hospital.

The cyclist went to St. Mary Hospital with minor injuries, authorities said.
