2 New Canada Lynxes Arrive To Make Cosley Zoo Their Home
Four-year-old sisters Sage and Poppy will make their home at Cosley Zoo after starting their lives in Montgomery, Alabama.

WHEATON, IL — Cosley Zoo has two new residents now that two Canada lynxes named Sage and Poppy have moved in. The pair comes to Cosley Zoo all the way from Alabama, where they were born in Montgomery Zoo in 2018.
“We are so very excited to welcome Canada lynx to Cosley Zoo,” Zoo Director Sue Wahlgren said in a news release.
Wahlgren added, “Sage and Poppy will provide the opportunity for us to share their unique conservation story. The acquisition of the lynx is the zoo’s first step to offering other unique North American species.”

Sage and Poppy are currently getting used to life at Cosley Zoo. Since the zoo has accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), they take part in greater efforts that include a Species Survival Plan to help lynx populations thrive.
