Paczki Day 2022: Where To Find Paczki Near Wheaton

WHEATON, IL — Fat Tuesday comes but once a year, and with it the promise of those deep-fried Polish confections that many find as hard to resist as they can be to pronounce: paczki. The beloved donut-like treats will be available in and around Wheaton on Paczki Day 2022, which falls on Tuesday, March 1.

Some bakeries require paczki pre-orders before Fat Tuesday and others will have a limited amount of paczki starting on Feb. 24. Here's a roundup of where you can buy paczki in the area.

Kirsten's Danish Bakery
94 Burr Ridge Parkway, Burr Ridge
The inventive paczki flavors at Kirsten's include chocolate butter cream, apricot, Oreo and many more. To pre-order, call (630) 655-2066.

DeEtta's Bakery
428 W. 5th Ave., Naperville
DeEtta's is taking pre-orders by Sunday, but they also plan to have plenty of paczki in store on Paczki Day. Flavors include apricot, cheese, custard with chocolate frosting and strawberry with whipped cream.

Vanilla Sugar Bakery
540 Duane St., Glen Ellyn
Vanilla Sugar Bakery is done taking paczki pre-orders, but same-day pickup will be available. In the past, the bakery's creative paczki flavors have included Oreo cream pie and Nutella cream-filled.

Lilac Bakery
348 S. Main St., Lombard
Customers have until enjoyed a variety of paczki flavors from Lilac in the past, including cherry and cream cheese paczki, poppyseed paczki, and an assortment of other flavors. Call 630-627-1310 to place an order or stop by the shop on Paczki Day to get your fix.

Sylvia's

The Paczki Day festivities at Sylvia's last nearly two weeks, with bakers whipping up the sweet treats daily starting Feb. 24 and ending on March 5. Sylvia's will be open from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Feb. 15 and from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 16, so stop in early to get your favorite flavor. The order form can be found here.
