When To Trick Or Treat In Wheaton In 2024
See when to head out trick-or-treating in Wheaton this year.
WHEATON, IL — The city has announced its trick-or-treat hours for 2024, giving kids and their parents something to look forward to this autumn season.
Trick-or-treating is set for Oct. 31 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Kids and their guardians are encouraged to use caution as they head from home to home in search of candy. Similarly, drivers are advised to watch for pedestrians, especially during trick-or-treat hours.

Wheaton police recommend the following tips to help everyone have a safe and happy Halloween:
- Trick-or-treat in a group
- Stay on one side of the road and only cross once you're done trick-or-treating on that side
- Walk on the sidewalk or close to the curb if no sidewalk is available
- Trick-or-treat during daylight
- Younger children should be accompanied by an adult or older teen who is responsible
- Children should be advised not to go into homes or cars
- Parents are urged to inspect candy and food, throwing away anything that is unwrapped and reporting any suspicious items to the Wheaton Police Department
- Residents who are passing out candy to trick-or-treaters should leave their outside light on
- Residents who are not passing out candy to trick-or-treaters should keep their outside light off or post a sign that indicates there is no trick-or-treating at their home.
Before Halloween, kids can get an extra dose of autumnal fun at Cosley Zoo's Pumpkin Fest, which will also offer donuts, caramel apples, cider, hay bales and other seasonal goodies for purchase.
