Body Found In Wilmette Harbor Identified As Missing Swimmer
The body of Ebrahim Akhoon, the 18-year-old swimmer who went missing early Tuesday in Winnetka, was found Thursday in Wilmette.

WILMETTE, IL — A body pulled from Lake Michigan Thursday afternoon in Wilmette was identified as that of the teenager who went missing in Winnetka earlier this week.
One of three swimmers who were in the water near Elder Lane Beach, 239 Sheridan Road, shortly before 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday did not resurface.
Dive rescue teams from North Shore fire departments and a Coast Guard helicopter have been searching for the missing swimmer since weather conditions have allowed.

The body was spotted in Wilmette Harbor around 1:30 p.m. Thursday and removed from the water with the help of fire crews from Evanston, Wilmette and Winnetka, according to a village spokesperson.
"We extend our condolences to his family and friends for their loss," village staff said in a statement.

Ebrahim Akhoon, 18, of Glendale Heights, has been identified by family members as the missing swimmer. One relative reportedly said Akhoon jumped from the pier and hit his head.
The body — the second discovered at Wilmette Harbor in eight days — was officially identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office on Friday.
