Incumbent Candidates Leading for District 39 Board of Education
With 23 out of 24 precincts reporting at the time of publication, a group of four candidates who ran together have taken the lead.

At the time of publication, 23 out of 24 precincts were reporting. Hauser has the lowest percent of the votes as of 11:14 p.m. The four leading candidates — lcantara, Flanagin, Steen and Levine — all ran together. Four out of the five candidates will be elected to the Board. These results do not include early voting, voting by mail or provisional ballots. Any votes for write-in candidates will be counted within a week after the election.

Five candidates are running for four positions in the District 39 Wilmette School Board. Keep checking Patch on Tuesday evening as results come in.
- Kimberly Alcantara: Alcantara has been a member of the Board of Education since 2009, and has served as the chair of D39's Facilities Development Committee since 2011.
- John Flanagin: Flanagin is a member of the District 39 Board of Education and recently completed his first term. He currently serves as Vice President of the Board and is a member of two board committees, the School Finance and Facilities Development, and chairs the Insurance Advisory Committee.
- Jasmine Hauser: Hauser produced television news and documentaries for over 13 years at PBS, TLC, ABC, CBS and Lifetime TV in Washington, DC and New York City, and has lived in Wilmette with her husband and children since 2005.
- Cynthia Levine: Levine is currently serving her first 4-year term as a Board of Education member and is seeking re-election. During her BOE tenure she was on the 2010 Support Staff Union contract negotiating team. She also sits on the Insurance Advisory Committee.
- Mark Steen: Steen is running for Board of Education for the first time. Steen is currently a Trustee of the D39 Educational Foundation, has served on the Marketing Committee and the Executive Committee, and serves as co-chair of the Math & Science Committee. Recently, he served on the New Trier Caucus.
