Nancy M. Roberts (nee Murray), age 85, beloved wife of the late John E. Roberts, III and longtime resident of Kenilworth, died on September 5, 2014.
A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, she was the youngest daughter of Raymond J. and Marjorie E. Murray. She was also pre-deceased by a sister, Cynthia M. Jack. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Julie R. (Gary) Hynes, and her beloved son, Peter C. (Robin) Roberts. She is also survived by five loving and loved grandchildren: Megan, Matt and Michael Roberts and Maggie and Jack Hynes. A sister Susan M. Thoits of Grand Rapids, Michigan also survives. She is also survived by her niece Nancy (Phil) Ryan and nephews David (Gaby) Thoits, Michael (Diane) Thoits , Jonathan (Janet) Thoits, Dr. Timothy (Jeanne) Thoits, Thomas, Jr. (Sandra) Jack, and Robert Jack.
Nancy was a graduate of East Grand Rapids High School and Connecticut College for Women. Nancy was also an Emeritus member of the Junior League and a longtime member of Kenilworth Neighbors, Kenilworth Clippers Garden Club, and the Kenilworth Beautification Committee. She was especially pleased to be named a Super Senior of the North Shore Senior Center by the Neighbors of Kenilworth. She also continued her relationship with Joseph Sears School well after her children graduated by participating in the 2nd grade Pen Pal Program for several years. She was a longtime member of Exmoor Country Club and Michigan Shores Club.
