Man Wanted For Arson Found In Wilmette; Rental Car Stolen: Blotters

WILMETTE, IL — The following information comes from the Wilmette and Kenilworth police departments and court records as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Criminal charges merely represent accusations by the state, and county prosecutors often choose to drop or reduce them. WILMETTE
INCIDENTS
HOME BURGLARY
Someone got into a home in the 200 block of Greenleaf Avenue through an unlocked front door between 3:30 and 4 p.m. on June 30 and stole a cellular phone, tablet and a watch valued at a total of $900.
IDENTITY THEFTS
A Greenwood Avenue resident reported that someone gained access to their bank account on June 27 and made a nominal purchase.

BIKE THEFT
Someone stole a Surly bicycle worth $800 from the 500 block of Hunter Road between June 6 and June 11.
CAR BURGLARIES
Someone rummaged through an unlocked car parked in the 1200 block of Central Avenue between July 4 and July 5, but nothing was reported stolen.

TRESPASSING
Trespassing and property damage were reported at 4 p.m. on July 11 at an unoccupied home in the 200 block of Ridge Road.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
- Someone damaged yard signs and a mason jar with handheld flags between 1 and 2 a.m. on July 4 in the 600 block of Central Ave.
- A vehicle was reported scratched while parked in the 500 block of 5th Street on July 11.
THEFTS
- Someone stole a flag attached to a tree in the front yard of a home in the 200 block of Linden Avenue on July 1.
- Someone stole a garment bag valued at $400 after it was delivered to a home in the 100 block of Sheridan Road on June 29.
- Someone stole packages containing four cell phones from the 3200 block of Greenleaf Avenue between 5 7:30 p.m. on July 3.
- Someone stole a yard sign on July 3 from the 1000 block of Oakwood Avenue.
- Someone stole a yard sign from the 600 block of Central Avenue around 1:30 a.m. on July 5.
- A license plate was stolen from a Ford Explorer parked in the 700 block of Prairie Avenue on July 5.
- Yard signs were reported stolen from the 600 block of Central Avenue at 1:30 a.m. on July 7.
- Someone stole a lawnmower and edge trimmer from the 1200 block of Central Avenue between 1 and 1:24 p.m. on July 13.
SHOPLIFTING
- Someone reportedly stole an unknown amount of merchandise around from the Walgreens, 3232 Lake Ave., around 9:30 p.m. on July 12.
- Someone stole charging cords from the Walgreens, 811 Green Bay Road, prior to 4:30 p.m. on July 13.
ARRESTS
Phyllis Cash, 47, of the 2200 block of Taylor Avenue in Racine, Wisconsin, and Richard Hart, 46, of the 2800 block of Arlington Avenue in Racine, Wisconsin, were arrested around 12:15 a.m. on July 6 after an officer pulled over a rental Chevy truck that failed to stop at a stop sign. An officer spotted open alcohol in plain view and searched the car, which turned up about 8 grams of suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Cash was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Hart was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from Grundy County.
Levie Jhon Laurito, 29, of the 4100 block of North Elston Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 3 a.m. on July 7 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration 0f 0.08 and cited for improper turn signal following a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Glenview Road.
Joseph Isaiah Stewart, 28, of the 3500 block of Dodge Street in Dubuque, Iowa, was arrested around 12:30 p.m. on July 9 on an extraditable warrant issued in connection with an arson-related offense after police spotted a car in which he was the registered owner in the block of Wilmette Avenue.
Elija Banks, 21, and Guerreros Saenzpardo, 22, both of Chicago, were arrested around noon on July 10 following a report of shoplifting of liquor from the Sheridan Road Jewel after they showed up at the 411 Green Bay Road Jewel.

INCIDENTS
IDENTITY THEFT
Someone used the address of an Abbotsford Road resident to fraudulently obtain an Illinois driver's license.
STOLEN CARS
- Someone stole an unlocked rental car that had the key left inside between 6 and 6:45 a.m. on June 25 from the 600 block of Melrose Avenue. Police found the stolen car in the 4500 block of North Marine Drive in Chicago around 2:30 p.m. The rental car company did not want police to pursue a criminal investigation and the car was towed back to company representatives.
- Another car stolen shortly after 6 a.m. on June 25 turned up in the 700 block of Maclean Avenue with damage to its ignition and steering column.
