NTHS Students Shave Heads for St. Baldricks

Some New Trier High School students went bald to support pediatric cancer research on Wednesday.

New Trier High School hosted it's first ever "Shave-a-Thon" on Wednesday, an event that raised money for St. Baldrick's, a charity that supports pediatric cancer research.

The event was planned by three juniors — John Brady, Jack Vorwald and Julian Good — who approached school leaders to organize the Shave-a-Thon. Brady has been volunteering as a "shavee" since 7th grade, and Vorwald and Good first got involved in 5th grade as students at Skokie School in Winnetka.

St. Baldrick’s is a national charity that asks volunteers to collect pledges and shave their heads as a show of solidarity with young cancer patients. More information on the charity, as well as the NTHS event, can be found here.
