Obituary: Robert Hagen Miller Sr.

Robert Hagen Miller, Sr,87, of Skokie formerly of Wilmette passed away on July 6. He was the beloved husband of June Miller nee Simmers; loving father of David (Kristen) Miller, Joyce (William) Weibel, Robert H. Jr. (Diane) Miller and Bradley Miller; dear grandfather of Erick, Andrew, Carina, Brian Miller and Matthew and David Weibel; loving brother of James (Yvonne) Miller; father-in-law of Kathryn Prince.

Robert attended Evanston High School, the Leelanau prep school in Traverse, MI and graduated from Northwestern University in 1949. Robert’s career was spent in the newspaper and advertising business in Chicago, he retired from Hartco Manufacturing Company as sales manager. Robert had a lifelong interest in and participated in The Boy Scouts of America. He was active with Wilmette’s Troop 9 serving as Assistant Scout Master for many years. Robert was a long time contributor and supporter of the Glenkirk Foundation for individuals with disabilities. He worked for years promoting and volunteering for the North Shore Senior Center. Tennis and sailing were his passions. Robert was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Wilmette.
