WILMETTE, Ill. Rock the Beach will also feature Syd Rocks necklace making stations, beach yoga and several food trucks too. All ages are welcome. The cost of the event is $60.00 per family ($80 at the event), $25.00 per adult ($35 at the event) and $10.00 per child (18 and under) if you register online prior to September 10, 2014.

Syd Rocks is the brainchild of Sydney Martin from Wilmette, who was diagnosed with LCH when she was 10. After realizing how little government and private funding goes to research this life threatening disease, Syd literally took matters into her own hands and began selling rock necklaces that she created called “Syd Rocks.”

Now seven years later and doing well, Syd and her family started the Giving Rocks Foundation d/b/a Syd Rocks, a 501c3 non-profit that helps fund medical research for LCH and other pediatric cancers and blood diseases. Syd’s Foundation has raised more than $250,000 through the sale of necklaces and local fundraising events like Rock The Beach for Syd Rocks.
