Police: Woman Reports $189,000 Missing from her Bank Account

Fraud
A resident on the 1000 block of Ridge Rd. reported unauthorized charges to her credit card on May 21, police reports state.          

Theft
A resident on the 700 block of Greenleaf Ave. reported that an unknown offender(s) entered the backyard and removed a bike, police reports state. 

Theft
A Chicago yellow cab reported that an unknown male exited the vehicle on the 200 block of Lake Ave. and never returned to pay the fare, police reports state. The cab is equipped with surveillance equipment and they will download a photo for the report. 

Driving Under the Influence
Mark Hahn, 49, of Wilmette is being charged with driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia, police reports state. Hahn was pulled over for minor traffic violations on the 1900 block of Wilmette Ave. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for DUI. He refused to take a breath test. Hahn was processed and later released on a bond.

A resident on the 1900 block of Wilmette Ave. reported unauthorized changes to her cell phone account on on May 23, police reports state. 

Fraud
A resident on the 400 block of Wilshire Dr. reported that she thinks her bank account is missing approximately $189,000, police reports state. She has been in the process of refinancing with what she believes to be a Quicken Loans agent. The incident occurred on May 24. 

Driving Without a Valid Drivers License, No Insurance
Jaime Vasquez, 28, is being charged with driving without a valid drivers license and driving without insurance, police reports state. He was pulled over for traffic violations in the 3800 block of Wilmette Ave., and was arrested, processed and later released on bond. 

Burglary to Auto
A victim on the 400 block of Washington Ave. reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it between May 24 and May 25, police reports state. The victim is unsure if anything was taken.

A victim on the 400 block of Washington Ave. reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle between May 24 and May 25 and removed $4, police reports state.

Theft
A resident on the 1100 block of Ashland Ave. reported that an unknown person(s) had removed two green Veolia plastic garbage cans from the alley behind his residence, police reports state. The incident occurred on the morning of May 24.

Driving Under the Influence
Alfonso Plata, 40, of Chicago is being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, police reports state. An officer observed Plata making several minor traffic violations and pulled him over on the 1200 block of Lake Ave. He was arrested, transported to the station, processed and released on bond.
