Wilmette District 39 Makes Big Improvements for New School Year

Wilmette Junior High is getting a new science wing, while Romana Elementary will have a renovated auditorium.

Hands-on science education will be even greater at Wilmette Junior High this school year thanks to construction of a new science wing featuring three new classrooms and three refurbished classrooms, reported the Chicago Tribune.

The classrooms won't be the only new feature. Private donations totaling $120,000 will fund new science equipment such as microscopes, according to the story.

The new science labs are part of a $7.5 million bond issue that is also funding a renovated auditorium at Romona Elementary, according to the Tribune.
