Wilmette Park District's 'Pumpkinpalooza' Underway Through Friday

WILMETTE, IL — Looking for some fun, family-friendly activities this Halloween in Wilmette? If so, you are in luck. Wilmette Park District's Pumpkinpalooza 2021 is underway now through Friday.

Celebrate Halloween with the park district's three-event series of carving pumpkins, dinner at the lighting and trick or treating! Register for one, two or all three events and bring the family out for Halloween.

Pumpkinpalooza Workshops - Age 5 and up

Carve a pumpkin to take home or leave with the Wilmette Park District to display at its community pumpkin lighting!

  • WHEN: Mon.-Fri., Now-Oct. 29 at 6 p.m.
  • REGISTRATION: CLICK HERE! (*Registration includes a free child entry to the Community Pumpkin lighting event with pizza dinner.)

Community Pumpkin Lighting - All ages
Light the Wilmette Park District'sworkshop pumpkins or bring a carved pumpkin from home to add to the glowing display. Enjoy two Halloween trails, for the whole family to enjoy! There will be a Spooky Trail (for ages 2-6) with family friendly ghouls and early childhood interaction (i.e. sensory tables). There will also be a frightful Haunted Trail (for school age children). This event includes a pizza dinner.

  • REGISTRATION:
    • ***CHILD PUMPKIN LIGHTING TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT*** Children can still get access to the Pumpkin Lighting by registering for Trunk or Treat! See below!

Trunk or Treat - All ages
Dress up and visit the Mallinckrodt parking lot for Trick or Treating! Register to collect candy, escort your child with an Adult ticket, or be a part of making the night special by registering your car to hand out treats!

  • WHEN: Friday, Oct. 29 at 6:15 p.m.
  • REGISTRATION:
    • Trick or Treaters can CLICK HERE to purchase the Trunk or Treat: Attending Only ticket (includes entry to Pumpkin Lighting & pizza dinner).
    • Hand out candy from your decorated trunk - CLICK HERE to purchase the Trunk or Treat: Decorated Car ticket. (*Does not include Pumpkin Lighting or dinner.)
    • Adult attendees can click CLICK HERE for a Trunk or Treat/Pumpkin Lighting Adult Ticket (includes entry & pizza dinner).

UPDATE FROM WILMETTE PARK DISTRICT:

We're sad to report that the outdoor events for Pumpkinpalooza have been cancelled due to inclement weather. It is predicted to rain significantly on both Thursday and Friday, and will not make for suitable conditions.

Trunk or Treat and the Community Pumpkin Lighting (including spooky trails & pizza picnic) have been cancelled. All registrants who purchased any form of ticket for these events will receive a full refund. Refunds will be processed within the next 2 weeks.

SOME PARTS OF PUMPKINPALOOZA ARE STILL RUNNING:

Pumpkinpalooza Pumpkin Carving Workshops are happening as scheduled. There are still a few spots available - click HERE to sign up!

We will set up a Jack-O-Lantern display at the Mallinckrodt Park Gazebo starting Friday afternoon, and it will be on display for all to enjoy the rest of the weekend.
