• Health officials warn of increasing flu cases in Illinois (mystateline.com) — Flu cases are climbing in Winnebago County, with 302 infections reported so far this season and 110 in just the last week, according to county health officials. A local internal medicine doctor warns the flu is more serious than a common cold, urges residents to get vaccinated, and notes that dry winter air may be making people more vulnerable, even though case numbers remain below historical averages.
