$10K in Jewelry Stolen from Chestnut St. Home
Cash, a wallet, clothes and two pairs of Ray-Bans were stolen in several car break-ins, too.

Jewelry stolen from home
Someone took various pieces of jewelry worth more than $10,000 from a home in the 300 block of Chestnut Street sometime between Dec. 23 and Sept. 20.

Burglary
Officers responded to a burglar alarm at a business in the 1000 block of Tower Road just past midnight Sept. 15 and discovered that someone had entered the business. About $600 in cash was stolen from the cash register.

Driving on a revoked license
Frances C. Rodriguez, 29, of the 500 block of E. 47th Street in Chicago, was arrested for driving with a revoked license at 10 a.m. Sept. 15 in the 700 block of Elm St. She was also cited for failure to signal. She has an Oct. 8 court date.
Bike stolen
Someone stole a locked black and green Giant Talon bike worth $450 from a bike rack in the 300 block of Winnetka Avenue between Sept. 12 and 16.
Wallet, sunglasses, cash stolen from cars
Someone stole a blue leather Coach wallet, Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses and $40 in cash from two unlocked cars parked in a driveway in the 1500 block of Asbury Ave. between 6 p.m. Sept. 18 and 5:50 a.m. Sept. 19. The total loss is $590.
Sunglasses stolen from car
Someone stole a pair of black Ray-Ban sunglasses worth $100 from an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 900 block of Greenwood Avenue between 7 p.m. Sept. 18 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 19.
Bag stolen from car
Someone stole a shopping bag filled with clothes from an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 1200 block of Asbury Avenue between 8 p.m. Sept. 18 and 8 a.m. Sept. 19. The total loss is $100.
Fraud
A resident reported that someone called and said he was from a utility company seeking money on delinquent bills. The caller asked the resident to meet him with cash nearby. No loss was reported.
